Semi-Jobless in Perth

So the pricks from Hays never ever got back to me so I joined a new recruitment agency, INTEGRITY, its all in the name! So I went in to them and had to do a maths test, spelling test and a tech test, it was fun. I got an A. Their giving me a job in the Australian Government’s Department of Industries and Research which i’m interviewing for tomorrow!

In other news, i love perth.

Havent been in town for a while so havent updated this thing! Sorry for the neglect!

Right so we got the gaf sorted, we named her ALEXIS. She is amazing. Took delivery of our new couches and plasma screen on saturday.

Im living with Agg,Ed,Ray,Jimmy Clarke, Ned and Karl. Ray is my roomie and I love him.

There tends to be a lot of cleaning and nudity in the place!

I havent gotten a job call back yet which is weird. Gonna ring around some places today and try get one sorted. If not I have one lined up for next Monday setting up bollards or something. Easy money apparently.

Anzac wknd was pretty crazy.

Barry Kelly came and went. Did a few sightseeing trips with him. The boys loved im too (it would be hard not to).

Nothing much else happening. Its still lovely and warm here!

Oh yeah we bought a rake of fishing gear and have been giving that a shot in the Perth waters….

Also I ate Kangaroo yesterday, Its yum…

Homeless in Perth

So we were due to move into the mansion “ALEXIS” last night but we got a call from Vas the landlord saying it wasn’t ready…and we couldn’t move in til today. Right. That left us homeless as we had checked out of the hostel and had our bags in storage. We tried to get another bed their but it wasn’t gonna happen! So…..we went out and decided that whatever happened happened! Luckily the 2 scottish girls we befriended said we could have their bed and they’d double up with other girls and stuff. So we all bailed into their room while trying to avoid the security….worked a treat!!

Apart from that I’ve been applying for pretty much every job going, still havent heard anything back! Pricks…

Im all set to work though as in I bought shirts, ties and shoes. It’d be funny now if I couldnt get an IT job and had to go labouring or something!! 250 bucks down the drain!

So Im pretty much just gonna wander around aimlessly today after I apply for more jos, and wait for the boys to get back from work so we can go move into ALEXIS!

Perth Baby

I love this place…

Headed up to the house last night – it is unbelievable.

All rooms have a balcony, 2 50 inch plasmas, 2 jacuzzis, 3 showers, 2 car garage, games room, proper BBQ, biggest fridge in the world, wireless internet and internet port in every room, full on surround sound, marble floors, FOXTel and a partridge in a pear tree!

Heading up tonight to put the bond on it!

Went to recruitment agent there, should get decent waged job by next week – LAUGHING!!!

Goin to the beach….

Perth, Australia – The days dont really matter anymore….

So we got accepted for our mansion…

4 bedrooms, flat screen TV’s, BBQ area and….2 (yes 2) jacuzzi’s!!

1000 dollars a week between 6 of us so 170 squids a week – NOT BAD!

Was down with a recruitment agent this morning – they’re gonna sort me in the next few days. Might join another one just so I get more offers, as I am highly qualified and who wouldn’t wanna hire me!!

The boys started work this morning. Haha they were up at 6!  Stinger.

Cant wait to move in and get settled…

Perth, Australia – Day 73

So me and the girls headed our seperate ways…

They flew to Melbourne yesterday and I flew to Perth. Im gonna live with the Tallaght lads we met in Thailand. In a hostel now with them while we look for a house. Heading to view one today I think. Gonna start the job search tomorrow!

Sydney, Australia – Day 70

Happy Birthday Aoife and Happy 10 weeks travelling!

Right on tuesday I went out with Barry for a few good bye drinks, twas a grand night! Met some folks who once inhabited Skerries!

Yesterday we moved out to Cliona’s house out in Newtown, which is a suburb of Sydney. It was very kind of her to put us up…we love the feckin place! Its like a myrtle beach set up with out the pool. People just walking in randomly every 5 mins to other peoples houses! Great laugh…

Today we went out to Bondi after giving Aoife her present. We went and saw the beach and now we’re in Bondi Junction which has a huge shopping centre. The girls are shopping which is why I’m on the net!

We’re going out on a mad one tonight for the birthday and I think we have a huge group coming out too! Cant wait!

We’ve booked our flights to Melbourne on Saturday…thats when the shit gets real…

Sydney, Australia – Day 68

Hello.

So we got to Sydney after a 7 hour flight and got our visas sorted and that. Got to the accomodation we had previously booked in Singapore. Some hostel!! Its called Wake Up! and its the most modern and biggest hostel I’ve ever been in. Had a couple of beers that night in the bar under the hostel, made a few friends.

Yesterday we wandered down to the Sydney Opera house and had a look around. The girls went shopping and I wandered the streets. Watched the best street performer ever! He was juggling knives while standing on a bike going round people in circles! Then I met Barry Kelly who is leaving tomorrow, we wandered and sorted out loads of his last minute things. Last night we met the girls friend Cliona and had dinner with her.

Today we were up bright and early to climb the bridge! It was brilliant. The girls rescheduled to a later time which is why they aren’t in the photo! I did it with Barry and Gav, some experience….

Gonna head out for a few tonight to send Barry off….

Singapore, Singapore – Day 64

Happy 9 weeks travelling!

Got the train from KL, which is an amazing city, to Singapore – twas grand. We all bought work clothes in KL coz it was so reasonable and saw those big ass towers! Amazing!!

Some shock when we saw prices here though – very expensive!!

Went to the cinema tonight for something different!!

Gonna sightsee the crap out of this place tomorrow.
