Oh Happy Days….

Hi…

So some good news! Actually 2 bits of good news! I rang the farmer and transferred the money to his account. Got all the details for the “farm work” I did and just have to wait til Thursday now to get paid and apply online for my 2nd year VISA, if all goes well, come Monday I should have my second year! Woooo….not sure if I should be posting that highly illegal scam online….oops.

Right the really really good news. So there has been a house across the road from the lads thats being renovated for ages….about a month ago it went up for sale. We were all dying to see what it looks like. And just there on Thursday a for lease sign went up! We were straight in there. Viewed it on Saturday, and believe me it is amazing. So we got application forms and submitted them Monday morning. After an hour he rang back and WE HAD IT!! So we’re moving in on the 15th and I cannot wait. Also its only a 4 bedroom house. 2 upstairs with ensuites and built in wardrobes, and 2 empty rooms downstairs. Seeing there’s 5 of us going into it (Me Murphy Faygo James and Birchall), there’s gonna be 2 sharing. Me and james volunteered to share. I dont mind sharing, he doesn’t mid sharing, it works out cheaper AND we get the master bedroom. Now this master bedroom has a big mirrored walk in wardrobe with an entrance to our ensuite (below) in the wardrobe! Its CLASS!! And when I say its directly across the road, its directly across the road as pictured….so we won’t need removal trucks or nothing!

That ensuite has a padded headrest for the bath?! A bidet?? Amazing….

Right the weekend just gone went like this…All day Friday I was all set on staying in. Right up til 4 bells when Hamish and Andy played Rhythm is a Dancer on the radio….quick text to birchall and we were goin out! Did the usual then….

Saturday we were up and and boozing by 12, after I cooked breakfast of course. Gach and a couple of the lads came around and we had a bit of a session in the house. We then got a taxi to Centennial Park and boozed in the park fora while before heading into V Fest! Snook some booze in too! Saw Razorlight first off. They were good. Next we went to Madness, who were fcuking amazing! Got a great video!…

After Madness came Snow Patrol (all the snaps are at the end). Snow Patrol were simply out of this world. Loved every minute of it!! They turned off the lights for a little bit for Earth Hour then started playing Run. The final chorus when everyone goes bananas singing “LIGHT UP LIGHT UP” all the stage lights came on, it was really cool…After Snow Patrol we walked over to the Killers. They were good too, not as good as Snow Patrol though!! Me and Birchall went crazy! Afterwards we figured out we missed Vanilla Ice, Kaiser Chiefs and The Human League but we didn’t care!

We walked home then, took us longer than it should coz we went out the wrong gate…stopped into the Tea Gardens on the way home for one or two then just went to bed!!

Sunday, we just sat around the house all day. Got a load of food in the evening and had a big barbecue with everyone. very nice. Just watched a movie after that! First Sunday in al ong time without booze. Twas a strange feeling gettin up on Monday without a hangover!!!

So today is the 31st of March and its my mothers birthday. Happy Birthday Mam. I sent home flowers interflora style – I rock! Have to leave work a bit early today to go sign our lease and pay a deposit on the house! Happy days!!

Tomorrow is April fools day and our good friend Gez is finally getting to Sydney….only took him 6 months!

I know its late….

We’ve had huge problems here in work. A/C has been broken (sweatbox in the 30 degrees). The internet/network keeps crashing. They haven’t had fruit all week….everyone is goin bananas!!

So…em last week. We may have gone a step too far.

Friday came home from work as per usual and went to the Tea Gardens and got hammered as per usual. Had a great laugh with Dave Clancy, approaching ladies in different ways…

Saturday I woke up in…it was the girls I think…yeah definitely. Phil had gotten a call saying we can have 4 Kings of Leon tickets….YES PLEASE. So it was also Edel’s birthday. I got herself and myself Happy Meals for breakfast. We then went to the Tea gardens for a cure/pint…. went home, hada nap then went up to meet the lads for the concert. Started boozin in the girls gaf. Twas me, Aaron, Dave and Phil going. Got the train to townhall, then got on some train we didnt know, met some girls on that train, they knew where to get off so we followed them, then got another train to olympic park. OUtside the venue we lost the girls but talked to every other girl there. Made loads of friends, met loads of hot chicks, it was brilliant! I have loads of photos but dont have time to put them up….ill put em up next week with all the ones from the coming weekend (confusing?!)…ok ill put up one photo…..

Madness….

The concert was brilliant. It was so much fun. Knew every word. Had amazing seats. Got amazing tshirts! At the end we got thrown out for trying to get down to the standing area (I think). Afterwards, some stuff happened. Me and Phil ended up goin to Coogee to meet up with the rest of them. They were all out for Edels birthday in the Palace… got thrown out of a cab on the way (not our fault, he was a d!ckhead). Got to coogee eventually, had great fun in the palace. Afterwards we went to the CBH for the match. I didnt wanna watch the scottish or english one, which ever was on first so I just started walking home looking for a taxi. Ended up walking the full way (Skerries to Lusk)…. twas grand! I had Mexicano doritos to keep me company.

Fell asleep on the girls couch? The next day I got a phonecall from Murphy (after I watched Ireland thrash WALES!!! WOOO) They were boozing in the house. It was 11 am. So I went down to the boys, started boozing. We ended up going CnB and staying there for the day. Liquered. I went home at half 8. Rang everyone in Ireland and went to sleep.

Needless to say Monday wasnt very productive….

Tuesday I packed up and left Eoin Hands house coz one of the boys sisters arrived and it would’ve been to packed and moved across the road and into the lads house. Im sleeping on the couch – but in all fairness its the comfiest couch in the entire world!! Things are going great there. We’re all on the lookout for a new place as their lease is up mid april….

This weekend we’re going to…. V FESTIVAL! Its gonna be awesome. Like our own little mini slane! Snow Patrol, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Madness, Razorlight and a couple others!! Cant wait….we’ve made a pact though we’re not goin boozing any day apart from Saturday…which will happen.

I am in work now and I am sweating my knacks off from the lack of A/C. Seeing that the building is glasss its a bit of a greenhouse!!

I think I saw that one of my mates is movin to India for 6 months….got to look more into that….

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Hello!

Happy St. Patricks Day to y’all! Hope you’s enjoy the day off – I’m stuck in work…and I have to move house today so no festivities are gonna be had!!

The weekend went like this….

Friday – Got out of work, straight home, straight to the pub. The usual suspects were there! Got hammered. had a mad laugh actually. Just slept in the lads as we were up early the next day.

Saturday – Up at 6.30 in the AM….we had to drive to a place called Mount White to get to the paintball place. Actually had sat nav and an iphone looking for the place and still couldn’t find it! So we were an hour late…There was 15 of us altogether…. played the usual games of get the flag and protect your base and that. It was such a laugh. Spent a fortune on bleedin bullets!!! At the end there was a free for all if anyone had any bullets leftover. I shot Kate in the throat – haha! Then Faygo got me in the side – and that is bruised as hell now! After we got our lunch there then headed home. Everyone was WRECKED. Just sat in on Saturday nite, got a chinese, watched a DVD and then the football….

Sunday – we left around 11 (all fresh) to go into the parade. It was cool. We were warned by the bouncer on the bottleshop that we’ll be fined if we’re caught drinking on the street – so we went drinking on the street!! Then after the parade we went to finish our beers in Hyde Park (the left hand side). We then headed into Hyde Park (the right hand side). This side was all fenced off and you were searched on the way in to make sure you weren’t sneaking in booze. Inside was great. There were a few live bands on, tayto tents, loads of bars and food places and other Irish stuff!! Beers were reasonable at 6 dollars each (3 euro). Stayed there til it finished up at 6….got the train back to the junction then and went to the cock and bull. We wwere all steamin drunk by this stage! I only had 2 beers there then stumbled home….rang my mam enroute, cant remember a bit of it!! Here’s the photos from the day….check out the Irish Aboriginies and twin of Molphy!!

So yesterday I went to work (absolutely dying)…

I packed all my gear last night – took a while. I hate moving. So I’m borrowing Dave Clancys car tonight, packing all of my gear into it and then driving to my new house! Eoin Hand had a free bed in his house so I decided to take that for a few weeks. The rent is cheaper, they have laundry facilities and….its across the road from the boys!! So I will be saving time too by not having to get the bus up and down from the junction to bondi everyday! Loving it!!

Cliona just text me there to say Happy St Patricks Day! I like when people do things like that – unlike a lot of you!

Em…so this time last year I was on Koh Phangan – jaysus time flies. Paul was sick in hospital. Me and Ciaran went to the outback bar and then on to the beach! good memory….

Tis pissin rain here today – which sucks. Haven’t been to the beach in a long time – I fear my tan is disappearing – NOooooooooooooo!

Right the weekend went like this.

Thursday – met Birchall after work as I had to do some admin work on his VISA efforts. He then bought me a nice steak dinner. Watched Greys in the girls house then headed home!

Friday – Met Birchall after work by accident. “Wanna go for a quick drink?” – ah yeah we’ll go for one. We got on it. Stayed in the pub til midnight. Hammered. Dave and Aaron joined us. Just had a laugh! Just stayed on the boys couch out of laziness.

Saturday – Was up early to get my jobs done before Mardi Gras. Called back up to the lads after that. We had a few beers and got a train into Hyde Park round 3. Just sat in the park drinking watching the freaks and gays and young ones go by! Saw people like this…

It was pretty cool actually. Good laugh. Everyone got there eventually and we started getting harrassed by the cops as Hyde Park was supposed to be an alchohol free zone… so we moved down to a wall and kinda hid. On the far side of the wall were a load of floats setting up. One was for the NSW Police Force, they had DJ’s on the back of a truck – it was deadly – tunes were banging -

The parade was starting so we went over the far side of the park to get a better look. We lost a load of people enroute and it ended up just being me, Birchall, Scully, Dave, Aaron and Fiona. The parade was class!! After a while we had to pee. Problem – there were no jacks in the park! We had been going in a bush way over the other side up til now. So we went for a we wander and found a big bin. 3 of us just stood behind that and went. Im no expert on estimations but I reckon 6 million people walked past us and they all said hello!! So we went back to where we were and Fiona had try to find somewhere to go – didnt happen. So she had a great idea that we’d stand around her and she’d go against a tree…it worked sort of…plus I got a great shot…classy girl!

Haha!! Then Aaron decided to climb the tree!

After more parade we were all starving so we decided to go get some food. So we left and walked a good 100 meters and just bumped into everyone else!! Hate when that happens. Gachie was drunk…

We left again after a while to get food. Started walking up Oxford street, it was mayhem. The parade was still going on and there were billions of people everywhere. Burger King was across the road and we couldn’t get to it…me and Aaron were nearly crying. We went to a kebab shop instead then walked up to near the courthouse. Couldn’t go much further. The others wanted to go back to Bondi and get a load of booze and have a party. Me and Birch decided to get some more booze and drink on the streets. Found a bottleshop and a six pack was 25 bleedin dollars – compared to a usual 15. Bought it anyway and just walked around Oxford street messing. Talked to loads of gays and weirdos. Birchall has way better photos than me but here’s what we did. Check out the state of the place anyhow….

We finished off the 6 pack anyway and tried get in the courthouse. The queue was huge so we tried the oul “just had a fag” routine. Didnt work. Told us  to queue. Not a hope – so we went wandering towards Kings Cross. Tried to get into O’Malleys – the dude told us to get something to eat and come back….we weren’t hammered? or were we? haha!! Went to the sportsbar anyway and accidently met Kate Coleman there?! had a few with her and then it was 3 in the morning. Walked back up to Oxford Street trying to get a cab….wasnt happening – but the entire place was spotless. Took them 3 hours to clean everywhere – very impressive!!Got a taxi eventually. We were knackered after being on our feet for 12 hours or somethin….slept on the couch again.

Sunday – was up early enough again. Went home and got changed and headed back up to the girls to see Farrah. Just ended up sitting in their house all day watching Skins. It was relaxing!! Went home then and went to bed!!

Monday I went and viewed houses after work.

Tuesday I went to the cinema to see Wachmen. I wouldn’t rate it….

So the pressure is still on to get a house. The couple we were gonna move in with found their own place so me and phil and emma have to come up with something now….hate this sh!t.

Think this weekend we’re paintballing on Saturday and there  might be a parade on sunday for Paddys day? not sure….

The Newcastle Six…..

Hello.

How are we?! Had a brill weekend.

Friday night I didnt get out of work till 10pm, which kinda sucked but good for the oul overtime. All the boys were out hammered which I really wanted to do but didnt get home til 11 and was knackered so just went to bed!!

Up at 6.30 in the AM.  Headed up to the junction to meet the lads. Saw Aaron walking down the road and got off and started laughing at him coz he was going to work, but he wasn’t. He was coming with us! He was also in a lot of trouble with Fiona haha. So Birchall was late coz he couldn’t find his flip flops so we were late to Central station and ended up missing the 8.15 train. Had to wait around an hour for the 9.15…but the good thing – we got student tickets for 9 dollars. Thats like travelling from Dublin to Galway for 4 euro 50!! I think the last time i went it 57 euro!? haha!

Train journey was 2hr 40mins, was a good laugh. They were all hungover hahaa. Got to Newcastle round 12. Strolled around in the sun looking for somewhere to stay. The place seemed nice enough. All the hostels were full and we tried a few hotels – also full. We went down the beach, which is awesome by the way….great waves!

We saw a hotel down there and me and Scully walked in, looked very very posh. Asked for a room and the lady said they had one left – it had a double and a single so we took it. She also said we could get a temp bed sent up too!! So it was all good. The room was 189 between the 6 of us!Plus it had a minibar!

We went for a wee walk then. Stopped in a bar called The Clarendon Hotel, it was grand, a bit dead (well we had noticed there were not a lot of people around), we played some pool and had a couple of drinks.

Next we walked up to some bar which the barman recommended to us. We got there and it was closed. Turns out it was only a nightclub….walked to the next one…and it was just closed down. So back we walked. Found a cool fountain thing and took a tourist shot -

Found a bar that was open eventually. Didnt even get the name of it but it was disgraceful. We were the only people in it!! We left that after a drink and went and found another bar – the crown and anchor. A few people in it. We were just sitting there waiting for dave to get off the train, as he had to do half a days work, and some bloke came over. he was either from cork and keey, he just sat down and started talkin to us – fair enough he could tell we were irish and he was on his own…he kept banging on about hurling and are we going hurling in the morning and then he’d say are we going hurling in the morning and then he’d say – are we going hurling in the morning. Birchall and dave sneaked off to the bookies, i spent a long time in the jacks, the bloke didnt get the message. We reckoned he was all coked up. Next thing we were just sitting there racing to finish our drinks and he says – “Are yee getting drinks in, will ya get me a pint”…we all ignored it looking in different directions. Then he goes (even louder) “will one of yee buy me a drink” to which I said, we’re heading after these. So he went up to the bar and we legged it!! We went down there knowing there was a nightclub called fannys. That freak told us it was good but the brewery was better, at least we got something out of it. Freak.

We went back to the hotel and sneaked all of us in with booze and drank there. Obviously that many drunk lads in a confined space with booze get gay…ha

Of course we were just doing this for the laugh. We didnt really get gay…

Haha.

Oh and apparently I’m getting fat…I am…its time to start running.

We left then and headed to this brewery place the freak told us about.

IT WAS CLASS.

The place was huge and packed. Loads of women there. Loads of hot hot hot women. There was a live band playing. We loved it. Had a great laugh there for a couple of hours. Scully even dressed up as a hen…

We didnt want to leave the place but had to go to Fannys. It was our goal of the weekend. Walked up with 2 cool girls from Melbourne. They were hot. But weren’t dressed up, still in boardies and thongs so couldnt go to the club with us. Got to fannys and had to queue for half an hour to get in!Big crowd at it!

We noticed the bouncers up here are actually sound compared to the wankbags you find in Sydney. Also we had heard the rest of the dudes back in Sydney had headed to Kings Cross and were having trouble getting in everywhere – as you do. They got in to some place and faygo got manhandled out of the place -didnt even do anything! we laughed…theyre night was a disaster, they were slaggin us for being gay and newcastle was shit but we were having way more fun!!

Fannys was good. Big place. Lots of rooms. We raved.

Me and Eoin went out for a fag and before he could tell us that if you cross this line you cant get back in we had crossed the line…so we wandered home – it was 3.30 anyway. Think we rang everyone in ireland. Got back and watched the Chelsea Wigan game. The boys came back after a while and we just kinda all fell asleep. 2 in the double bed. One in the single bed. One on the matress of the temp bed, one on the base of the temp bed and one on the ground! Great fun!

We also asked for an extra 4 hours on our check out time for 10 dolla an hour! we were intending to go swimming to rid the hangover….

Got up the next morning and nobody wanted to swim – hangover central. We just went and got food then checked out at 2….and they didnt charge us for the 4 hours. So all in all it worked out at 31 dollars each for the room and 9 dollars for the train ticket – thats 40 dollar – 20 euro. BRILLIANT. We are definitely goin again!!

Got the train home all hungover – twas fun though. Scully fell asleep and drooled….

Parted ways in Bondi again – good weeknd.

I went home and did my laundry then went to the pub with the girls. Hadn’t seen them in 2 weeks so had a couple of drinks with them and was home in bed for 12…

Yesterday I went to work knackered, a wrecked hip and groggy. But I knew we were going for our end of quarter meal. We left work at 11 and went to a place in the rocks. The restaurant was in a great location, right beside the cruise line port and good views of the opera house.

Looks good eh?! Well the food was shite. Got bruschetta for starter – twas manky. Then i got a 50 dollar fillet steak. No pepper sauce in a restaurant this fancy!! Steak was alright. Desert was good though – had mini chocolate filled doughnut things with passionfruit sauce and cinnamon ice cream – yum!!

So that was my eventful weekend…

We’re definitely moving out on the 18th. So we’re on househunting mode again. Me and Phil are gonna live with the couple Mick and Nic who we live with now. Gonna get a 2 bedroom apartment in the junction for handiness sake!!

Nothing much else to report. Its Mardi Gras this weekend coming – should be interesting!!
