The Game: Me VS The System

Hello.

So before I tell y’all whats goin on I need to recap the 2? last weekends before I forget…

Friday 17th – I literally sat here for 10 mins trying to remember what we did…I remember! Because the 5 of us moved into our beautiful new house, Murphy said we were having a boys night in. So the 5 of us and Scully got ribs from Hurricanes and watched Step Brothers. And although it goes against my Friday rule of going bananas it kind of a cool night. And because we were all relatively sober, we had a good run at the Saturday.

Saturday 18th – We were all up early and hit the reject/discount shops for stuff for the palace. got loads of new toiletries, washing stuff, cleaning stuff, matts and bins and whatnot. Saturday night then Im pretty sure we went to Anne Ryans mansion and had another barbeque. Actually thats definitely what we did coz I have this photo to prove it…

That night we got schplooned! I ran out of beers and hit the vodskies pretty early! As far as I remember we went to the Paddington Inn and then to the Courthouse…?

Sunday – Woke up at 4.30 in the PM….wow that was a late! Had something to eat and then went to Anne Ryans house and went out with her and the girls for a drink, was home in bed reasonably early!

The week was grand, just getting settled in the house. Dave Clancys birhtday on the Tuesday. Went for a steak.

Thursday I got a new phone, INQ1, its the schnizz, can do everything on it!

Friday – Me Dave Aaron and Birch (we 4 are core) went to Anne Marie and Maries house for a flippy cup tournament, it was great laugh. Got smashed and had a house party! Sing a long central!

Saturday – Made our way home from Randwick. Showered and got on the booze again. It was ANZAC day so everywhere was gonna be mental. We went to Balmain to meet the rest of the skerries crew and had a great laugh. We were in the Welcome Inn. Played 2 up all day. Great game. The whole pub stands around a square on the floor. A ref is in the middle and picks somebody to mak a bet. The person is then handed a paddle with 2 coins on it and they have to bet whether after they are thrown they will land heads up or tails up, one of each and its thrown again. Someone takes the person in the middles bet and then all the side bets happen! I won 19 games in a row. 200 bucks up! sweeeet. After, me gez emily and claire went to the rocks for a bit and then on to the courthouse. Got thrown out eventually, got the best devil wings in the world ever and then fell asleep on the girls couch!

Sunday – did a we bit of shopping, bought the Macgyver box set and sat on the couch for the day!!

This week not much happening bar trying to sort out my life….

Right sponsorship with Oracle is out, they told me on Tuesday. They cannot financially commit to me for 2 years. So thats plan A to keep me in this godforsaken country out the window….

So plan B went into action Wednesday morning.

As you may or may not know, my farmer dude f*cked me over, leaving me without the evidence which immigration asked for. I cannot supply this evidence. Which is a form 1263 I need completed by the farmer.

I have 2 people willing to vouch that I’ve worked for them since “leaving the farm” that I originally applied for my second visa with.

These are both eligable for the rural work. One is in port macquarie up the the road there.

What I was worried about was would immigration allow me to withdraw the first application and lodge a 2nd one on the grounds that I could not gain evidence from the first place.

So spent the half an hour on the phone to them there yesterday.  Cacking myself.

They asked why I could not get it, I said Im having trouble getting a hold of him at the best of times, let alone getting him to fill out a form and fax it back. Payslips they asked? well I was paid cash in hand…

So they said well you can fill out the form 1263 and not have it signed and we’ll look into it and try get hold of the farmer…that wasn’t what I wanted to hear….or yeah you can send in the form filled out by your newer employer with a cover letter explaining that you were having difficulties gaining evidence from the first guy and that can be accepted….thats what I wanted to hear!

So I asked – my bridging visa is up in 2 days, can it be extended. So he wrote a little note on my application sayin that I have rang, explained my case and to keep my bridging visa open until they receive the next form from me…..He also said they are a couple of weeks backlogged so could take a month or 2….GREAT SUCCESS. Get in there!!

So ive a few weeks now to get everything sorted properly!

Tough Times

Hello…

Sorry I havent posted.

Been rather busy. If Im not working in work, im on the phone in work trying to sort my life out.

My world is crumbling down.

The shit has hit the proverbial fan.

Im having a complete mare.

Had a good ANZAC day though. Went to Balmain to the Welcome Inn. Won 200 dollars on 2up! Best game in the world!!

Somebody make the nasty VISA people go away….

In times like these we learn to live again…

HEllo.

Yeah so last week I completely forgot…must have been busy or something!

So the stress…first off I applied for my second year visa last Thursday. Got an email back on the Friday saying I need to prove my 3 months farm work. I need to fill out a form and get it signed by the “farmer” and provide payslips. Now I know my dodgy contact guy can do this, but apparentely someone he knows has been busted and he’s keeping a low profile and not answering phonecalls or texts…bit of a boggle. So dunno how im gonna get the stuff off him, the stuff I have already paid for. My friend Claire is in the same predicament. Its a nightmare…. so if it all goes tits up, my bridging VISA is up on the 1st of May, could be home soon afterwards….AGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

So secondly in the stress category was the house, trying to get the previous bond back and pay for the new one…got it all sorted yesterday though. We got our 9 grand together and James is in the estate agent as I type….getting keys today woooooooo. Cant wait to move in. But if I do end up havin to leave Im gonna be 2 grand out of pocket? not sure…dont really wanna think about!

Third stress thing, disregarding the visa epidemic, My contract is up in 6 weeks…jobs are not plentiful here. I have my agent working on getting me a new job lined up. Better be good, with sponsorship, and easy! haha!

Right last weekend (2 weeks ago) went like this I think…Thursday – me and Faygo went to meet Gez in town! Great to see him. We went to the Lowenbrau bar in The Rocks for a few.

Friday – he came out to bondi. We went to the Tea Gardens and got hammered with him! Good night….

Saturday – Me Phil Birchall and Gez went for a walk n the park forest thing. I was telling them about a theory I heard on the radio (Hamish and Andy – best radio show ever – get the podcasts). The theory states that when a group of blokes go into a forest, they will all leave carrying sticks. Its a bloke thing. We just like to pick up sticks and hit things with it. So when a bloke does hit something he looks to his fellow foresters for a nod of approval. We had fun. We also saw a naked girl being photographed. It was some sort of art college project id say. Free boobs though! haha! We just sat in on saturday night, few beers and the football.

Sunday – we were in the pub for 1. Millman came back for one day only – it was great to see him. We all proceeded to get liquered out of our faces…id like to say what else happened but cant remember…needless to say work sucked on Monday!!

This weekend was epic. We were all off on Friday for Good Friday. So thursday we went out for a lot of booze, got gee eyed.

Good Friday – we went for a walk down to bondi and walked around the beach and town and that. Then we went to the Bungabar and had a few with Dave Sheehy and Kerri. Then back up to the house for a few more. Kate and Emilys mam, Anne Ryan, is over to see them. Anne and my dad would be mates as they are both principals. Anne rented a house about 5 mins from us. Its a castle! 3 floors, its HUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Really modern too, as nice as my new house Im getting…its 2300 a week or something mental like that. So we went over there for a barbeque. Loads of food and booze, it was cool. And the mam is bang on. We stayed up til 5.30 or something.

Saturday – me and birch woke up dying and he just say we’re going to the races. OK says I. We new they were on but had no intention of going. So we got up, got scully, gez and faygo to come and were at the races for 1!! Bourbons for half 1!! Met a few friends there and hada good day. Everyone was on roller coaster rides of emotions and energy after the previous few days. So people were fading then going mental then fading then going mental. Once the races were over we decided to walk to Coogee to go to the palace. Took about an hour and a 3 pint pub break to get there! It was good though, had some good conversations (yeah right!). kate and Emily joined us after a while. Me and Scully and Birch left soon enough and went to Kings Cross to meet up with the girls we were hanging around with at the races. We ended up in O’Malleys. Watched the footy and then I hit a wall….gone home.

Sunday was spent on the couch.

Monday was spent on the couch.

So its Wednesday already – love the short weeks, but I dont get paid for the days off which sucks….

I think this weekend is gonna be generally quiet as we’re all skint after all the money we handed over yesterday.

James actually just rang me saying the estate agent laughed at him for bringing in 9 grand in cash…think we were supposed to bring a bank draft – i dont even know what one of them is…

So once we move in Birchall reckon he’s beoming a new him coz we were abusing him for being useless and an alcoholic. Now I match Birchall drink for drink as we are drinking buddies and round partners. So that makes me think I have a problem. I generally dont drink monday to friday! Im good so! But birch also doesnt cook (I do a lot). So the new him is gonna drink less, cook more and ask people out on dates!! I might do the same!

Right well thats all my news, gonna move over some of my stuff to my new house tonight…cant wait to hang stuff up and not live out of a bag!!
